The Network of Cities and Towns working towards Sustainability is an association of municipalities with about 280 members including local and supralocal authorities and various observers from the Government of Catalonia and municipalities from other Catalan provinces. It was created in 1997 to work towards local sustainable development and contribute to global sustainability.
The Network’s objectives are:
To promote local sustainable development policies based on the green economy and participatory governance.\nTo support municipalities to improve public services and create efficiency and cost saving opportunities in environmental management.
To become a platform for municipal discussion and exchange and promote cooperation between the different levels of government, especially between local governments and the Government of Catalonia.
To encourage public-private cooperation and participation by social actors. MORE INFORMATION
