Efficient control for a better environment: The Barcelona Provincial Council offers support to municipalities, monitoring air quality, the acoustic environment and water sources. Air quality monitoring network: particle pollution. The manual network to monitor air particles (PM 10 and PM 2.5) of the Barcelona Provincial Council, is formed by 14 local councils and aims to study air quality with respect to the concentration of particles in their municipalities. Each council is responsible for changing their filters. Analysis of water sources Technical support is provided by the Barcelona Provincial Council to the local councils to analyse the quality of water from natural sources. This service is provided to 57 municipalities. In general, the following parameters are analysed twice a year: pH, turbidity, conductivity, nitrate, ammonium, Escherichia coli, coliform bacteria, enterococci, Clostridium and temperature, which is measured "in situ". A report produced from the results is sent to each council. Noise Monitoring The participating municipalities have various noise sensors set up during periods of a few months, which are connected to the Sentilo platform which enables noise levels to be viewed online. The analysis of the data that can be extracted includes, among other information, noise levels during the day, in the evening and at night in accordance with European regulations. MORE INFORMATION
