The Network of Municipal Libraries is made up of 226 libraries and 12 mobile libraries which offer a world of services for all types of users focused on traditional borrowing services, information, access to new technologies, learning and entertainment. With the addition of the BiblioLab programme, libraries are becoming more and more like knowledge creation centres through experimentation in collaborative environments open to the general public. The BiblioLab aims to promote creation and creativity for the public, highly-valued skills in personal development for people in fields such as education, culture and entrepreneurship. Currently there are BiblioLab projects underway in several libraries and mobile library buses throughout the region which promote the generation of knowledge and social innovation from areas such as technology, science, art and literature. In addition to the traditional borrowing of books, music and films, the libraries and mobile libraries offer other types of events and services: discussions with writers, film screenings, tourist information, multimedia resources, services for people with auditory, visual or mobility difficulties, new resident welcoming, training in new technologies, making spaces available and many more. In addition, there is a large virtual library that offers recommendations, reading guides, themed tours, trivia, an events calendar and other activities for users. MORE INFORMATION.
